On the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Permanent Representative of Sudan to the United Nations, Dr. Gony Mustafa Al-Sharif, held a meeting with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya, Dr. Musalia Mudavadi.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Sharif underscored the strength of the fraternal ties between the peoples of Sudan and Kenya, commending Kenya’s pivotal role in supporting peace and stability in Sudan and across the region. He also highlighted Kenya’s tireless efforts to help the Sudanese people reach a comprehensive resolution to the ongoing crisis and to uphold the principles of democratic, civilian-led governance.
For his part, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dr. Mudavadi reaffirmed Kenya’s steadfast commitment to supporting peace and stability in Sudan, stressing his country’s determination to ease the suffering of the Sudanese people, meet their aspirations, resolve conflicts in a fair and sustainable manner, and pave the way toward the establishment of democratic, civilian-led rule.
This meeting comes within the framework of ongoing regional and international efforts to mobilize support for a peaceful resolution to the crisis in Sudan
