Sudanese Presidential Council President Discusses Humanitarian Response and Peace with EU Special Envoy

On September 22, His Excellency Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, President of the Presidential Council of Sudan, received a call from Dr. Annette Weber, the European Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa. The two leaders engaged in in-depth discussions on Sudan’s current situation and its most urgent challenges.
The talks centered on practical measures to address pressing humanitarian needs and to lay the foundations for long-term peace and stability. A key focus was the urgent coordination of humanitarian assistance to support communities severely affected by the ongoing crisis.
President Daglo emphasized the importance of restoring and strengthening essential services, particularly electricity and water systems, which serve as a cornerstone for both immediate relief and sustainable development. Both parties agreed that these services are critical to alleviating human suffering and restoring normalcy in daily life.
The discussions also underscored the necessity of joint efforts among local stakeholders, international partners, and humanitarian organizations.
