RSF Pledges Civilian Protection and Restoration of Normal Life After “Liberation” of Al-Fashir
Al-Fashir – Blue News
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have declared their full commitment to protecting civilians and restoring stability in Al-Fashir, following what they described as the city’s “liberation” from the control of the terrorist Islamic Movement army and its allied mercenary militias.
In a statement released by the Office of the Official Spokesman, the RSF reaffirmed its adherence to international laws, humanitarian charters, and customary norms, emphasizing that the operation in Al-Fashir was conducted under the directives of its leadership and with respect for civilian protection obligations.
The RSF announced a series of immediate measures aimed at restoring normal life in the city, including:
Providing safe corridors for those wishing to relocate and ensuring protection for residents within Al-Fashir.
Facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid, securing convoys and aid workers to ensure assistance reaches those in need.
Assigning the Federal Police to maintain law and order once the city is fully secured.
Reopening markets, hospitals, water sources, and other essential services to revive daily life.
Clearing landmines and handling the dead with dignity to allow displaced citizens to return home safely.
Treating prisoners humanely, in accordance with international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions.
The RSF reassured the Sudanese public that its operations in Al-Fashir are driven by a desire to “eliminate threats and dangers that have long endangered civilians,” adding that this marks “a new phase of efforts to strengthen security, stability, and the foundations of peace, justice, and equality in Sudan.”
